Foreign residents

You already live in France as a residential customer or you wish to buy a second home or settle anywhere in France? EDF can simplify your everyday life and help you with your housing projects.

Your tariff

Your bill consists of two main items : the subscription fee and the price of energy consumed, which depends on your tariff option.

Thanks to the "Conseil Juste Prix" (Right Price advice, a personalised study of your energy consumption habits, your electric appliances and the level of comfort you wish), your EDF representative can give you the rates and tariffs that are best suited to your needs.

Your method of payment

You can pay your bills online *, by direct debit, by mail (check), by phone (credit card) or by check or cash at your EDF local shop*.

If you prefer budget your expenses over the year, you can pay a monthly sum determined by a calculated estimation of your electricity consumption. You just need to download this form (PDF, 62Kb) * and to provide a bank statement for your monthly payment to be automatically deducted from your bank account. This service is free, secure and easy to use.

Good to know

Electricity in France

France uses electricity at approximately 220 volts/50hz like most of the world outside of North America.

If you come from a country where appliances are designed for 110 volts/60hz, you will need a voltage converter or a transformer depending on the type of appliances or equipment you plan to use in France.

As the wall outlets configurations can be different in France from your country, you may also have to buy plug adapters (be careful: plug adapters don't change the voltage).
