EDF in Russia

As Europe's top producer of hydroelectric power, we are well positioned to play a leading role for the progress of hydropower technologies -  an important step both towards satisfying the growing demand for green energy and recognizing our responsibility in confronting climate change. 

We have been working together with Ukraine in an effort to modernize the country's hydroelectric power stations as part of aWorld Bank-supported program to bring the country's fleet up to date.

Our involvement in the effort was initiated by the Ukrainian Ministry of Energy which appealed to France for assistance. Our extensive experience with pumped storage stations served as an important benefit for our participation. As a result, EDF oversaw the final stages of the project's design and provided technical support in preparing the tender.
