Today, EDF is the world’s fifth largest producer of electricity from renewable sources, which represents approximately 19% of the Group’s overall output (about 25 GW).
We are well established as a key player in the renewable energy industry. The growth of EDF subsidiary EDF Energies Nouvelles, which specializes in alternative energy sources, has served to strengthen our position in the renewables market. In less than 10 years, Energies Nouvelles has become one of the world leaders in solar and wind power production.
Energies Nouvelles currently develops, installs and operates 'green electric power plants in 13 countries in Europe and North America. In addition to its focus on solar and wind power, the company closely monitors the development of up-and-coming technologies such as biogas, biomass, biofuel and marine energies.
